Band Members
Avery Middlesex (they/them): keyboards. Avery was born in Bristol, UK and emigrated to Memphis as a teen. A high school talent show performance led to a gig with alt country band Riverbottom. Avery went on to form the funk rock bands One Fell Swoop and Delicious Aloysius. They currently perform solo as Badvocate.
Ashe Wednesday (ze/hir): percussion. Ashe is an Asheville native. Inspired by a chance meeting with Tito Puente, ze caught the percussion bug as a teen and went on to power the Athens, GA bands Bongo Fury and Rug Emergency with hir atomic rhythms. Ze teaches percussion at Berklee College of Music.
Rev. Solitaire Montenegro (he/they): bass guitar. Solitaire was born and raised in Detroit and shaped in the crucible of early aughts Detroit garage rock, playing in numerous bands, including Dopamean and Wunderkind Of. They currently anchor the trad jazz band Life After Youth.
Leonia Teaneck (shey/shem/sheir): guitar & keyboards. Leonia hails from NJ and calls Queens home. Schooled in banjo as child, Leonia later switched to guitar and formed 90's cult bands Proctor Silex Mariner and Morning Breath. Beyond the Invisible Band, shey play in the skiffle supergroup Tomnibus.
Nova Darkstar (they/them): vocals. Nova was Jersey born and calls the Hudson valley home. They played in the Boston garage bands Hogwash, Zamboni, and The Warthogs in the 80's and were a Borscht Belt folk singer in the early 2000's. They recently recorded with UK-based multi-instrumentalist Andrew Register (of Hogwash and The Warthogs) as The Pond Hoppers.
Inga Partridge (they/them): drums. Inga hails from Fort Lee, NJ and is the grandchild of Richard Feder (of SNL fame). Inga came up in the underground Jersey bands Core Friend Group and The Locavores, and co-founded Paul is Dead, the Beatles/Grateful Dead cover band that’s burning up the jam band circuit as you read this.
